More and more frequently, high performance car manufacturers are playing prominent roles in developing or endorsing products.
Luxury mobile phone maker Vertu has introduced the limited edition Ascent Ferrari 1947. Developed in collaboration with Ferrari's design team, the phone commemorate's Ferrari’s 60th anniversary.
The phone is made from hand-polished titanium with black stripes down the sides. The Ferrari Prancing Horse logo is on the front with a Ferrari brake pedal on the back.
Not wanting to be left out, Porsche Design has created the P'9521 Phone. With a built in scanner, the phone is capable of indentifying it's user by fingerprint. Milled from a solid aluminum block, the phones display can display rotate 180 degrees.
In addition, there is Porsche Design's P9611 GPS Unit. Reports are that it will run Windows CE and will include Zagat-rated hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs. Additionally, it will include such features as automatic speed warnings, photorealistic junction views, and more than 5 million stored points of interest (POI). It may even include the location of every Porsche dealer.
The Porsche Design Group seems to be everywhere. Not only will you be able to navigate via the GPS unit, but if you get stranded, you'll be able to take advantage of the new Porsche-designed Eton P9110.
It's an AM/FM/Shortwave radio with an LED flashlight, cell phone charger, emergency siren and flashing red light. Power comes from a crank handle
